The Embassy Of The Kingdom Of The Netherlands Pays A Courtesy Call On The Registrar Of Companies

A delegation from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ghana, led by Mr. Joey Pijkeren, the Operational and Consular Head, paid a courtesy call on the Registrar of Companies, Mrs. Maame Samma Peprah, to deepen engagement on Ghana’s business registration and regulatory environment, and strengthen business verification and information-sharing processes.

In her remarks, the Registrar underscored the importance of international cooperation in promoting transparent and efficient business regulatory systems. She noted that the ORC remains committed to improving service delivery and creating a conducive environment for local and foreign businesses operating in Ghana.

The Registrar further highlighted the Office’s ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, digitizing registration processes, and strengthening compliance mechanisms to support the ease of doing business in the country. She indicated that the ORC continues to play a critical role in promoting corporate governance, accountability, and investor confidence through effective regulation of business entities.

Mr. Pijkeren commended the ORC for the significant strides made in modernizing business registration and regulatory processes, describing the interaction as informative and beneficial.

The delegation included Erwia Piffers, Head, Fraud Unit, MFA, Netherlands, Iris Marriette Keeman, Head, Travel Documents, MFA, Netherlands Isabelle Suply, Immigration Liaison Officer; and Sandra Quarshie, Assistant Immigration Liaison Officer, MFA, Netherlands

Also present on behalf of the ORC were Mr. Benjamin Zigorsh-Nyakpenu, Deputy Registrar of Companies; Mrs. Rebecca A. Smith, Head, Legal Directorate; Ms. Mildred Acheampong, Assistant State Attorney; Mr. Frank Opoku Darko, Assistant Chief Company Inspector, Inspections and Compliance Directorate, and Ms. Zuliat Kadiri English, Corporate Affairs and Communications.

The visit formed part of broader efforts to foster institutional collaboration and strengthen cooperation between the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and key public institutions in Ghana.
